Accomplish Polavaram Project Rapidly-Jagan

On Monday, A review meeting was held with the irrigation department by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, where officials were ordered to swiftly conclude the Polavaram irrigation project.

After inquiring the current status of the project and the time needed to complete the project, CM Jagan made it very clear that reverse tenders should be considered, if the costing and the completion timing exceed the limits, and also told that he will not tolerate any type of corruption in any matters.

Sasibhushan Kumar, principal secretary of irrigation, gave the details of the projects saying that the state government has spent Rs 11,537 crore so far on the Polavaram project and the central government has to compensate Rs 4,810 crore. Another of Rs 12000 crore is necessary for the completion of civil works, and Rs 27000 crore towards R&R package.

CM Jagan was even worried about wastage of water from Godavari River and has asked officials to plan to divert the water in reservoirs or canals instead of getting wasted in the sea.
