Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s home constituency, Kuppam, is set for a major transformation with the launch of the ambitious ‘Kuppam Vision,’ aimed at uplifting the region over the next five years. This development blueprint, recently approved by the State government, includes a range of projects to boost infrastructure, education, water supply, and community facilities across Kuppam, Gudupalle, Shantipuram, Ramakuppam, and Kuppam municipality.
Rs 1.53 crore has been earmarked to improve roads for pothole repairs, and Rs 52.72 crore for additional road development by the R&B Department. Education is also a priority, with Rs 109.70 crore allocated for upgrading schools, along with funds for hostel development: Rs 1.27 crore for BC hostels, Rs 10 crore for SC hostels, and Rs 2.53 crore for ST hostels.
Enhancements to water supply and sanitation are also crucial aspects of the plan, with Rs 4.17 crore directed towards repairing 110 water tanks and upgrading the drainage and electrical systems within Kuppam municipality. Recreational projects like developing the NTR Sports Ground and two parks have also been proposed alongside stormwater drains to tackle flooding.
Kuppam Vision, supported by 17 government departments, aims to improve infrastructure, public services, and residents' quality of life. Additionally, the government has reinstated the Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA) to support this transformation. Project Director Vikas Marmat stated that multiple projects, from road repairs to sanitation efforts, are already underway, focusing on poverty reduction and income generation to ensure a better future for Kuppam’s people.
