‘Can’t influence my father to include women in the cabinet’, says KCR's daughter
K Chandrasekhar Rao who after running the government alone without any cabinet and after a lot of controversies had finally formed his cabinet by expanding it from 2 to 10 on Tuesday. However, since then he has been criticized for not including any female candidate in the cabinet. Even during his previous term, there was no female candidate who acquired a seat in his cabinet.
However his daughter and Telangana Rashtra Samithi Lok Sabha member K Kavitha who on Friday was at Indian School of Business said that no political party including TRS, BJP or any other will ever give space to women and emphasized that the only way to do so is if it is mandated by the Election Commission of India or the Parliament.
When asked whether she can influence her father to induct women into Telangana State Cabinet, she said, “Of the total 85-plus TRS MLAs, only four are women in Telangana State Assembly. For women, it has to be mandated. I am a very junior member of the party with just four-and-a-half-years of experience as an MP and influencing my party leader with 40 years of experience is not going to work"
