Chandrababu Naidu Takes Oath as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister for Fourth Term
This morning, N Chandrababu Naidu, leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), was sworn in as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth time. The ceremony, held near Kesarapalli IT Park in Gannavaram, Krishna district, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other prominent leaders including Nitin Gadkari and Chirag Paswan.
Naidu was chosen as the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) Leader of the House in a meeting at Vijayawada, following a proposal by Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan. The TDP, JSP, and BJP together claimed a significant victory in the state elections, winning 164 out of 175 seats. The TDP secured 135 seats, JSP 21, and BJP 8.
Among the 24 ministers sworn in were JSP chief Pawan Kalyan, TDP national general secretary N Lokesh Naidu, and several other leaders from the TDP, JSP, and BJP. Three JSP leaders, including Pawan Kalyan, found a place in the Cabinet.
Naidu announced that Amaravati would be the capital of Andhra Pradesh, aiming for balanced development across the state. The new Cabinet includes 12 members from Other Categories, 8 from the Backward Class, 2 Scheduled Castes, 1 Scheduled Tribe, and 1 Muslim, with three women among the ministers.
Naidu's return marks his fourth term as CM, with two terms before Andhra Pradesh's bifurcation and now his second term post-bifurcation.
