Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Expresses Concern Over Gang Rape, Questions Law and Order
In a poignant response to the recent heinous gang rape of a 16-year-old girl in Vizag, TDP chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, expressed anguish and raised serious concerns about the state's law and order situation. Taking to social media, Naidu lamented the tragedy and the distressing reality faced by the daughters and sisters of Andhra Pradesh.
Naidu, who heads the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), highlighted the alarming impunity with which criminals operate, especially those preying on women, in the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led Andhra Pradesh. He expressed deep disappointment in the utter failure of law and order in the state and emphasized that criminals appear to operate without fear.
In his post, Naidu stated, "Criminals continue to hurt our daughters and sisters without fearing the law because they know there is no law and order in a YSRCP-ruled Andhra Pradesh. Forget women empowerment, YS Jagan's vision seems to only empower criminals who prey on women."
The incident, which has shocked the nation, led to the arrest of eight individuals by Vizag police. The victim's harrowing ordeal came to light after she managed to escape and report the crime to authorities.
The tragic incident has sparked outrage and calls for stronger measures to ensure the safety and security of women in the region.
