Harish Rao Slams Telangana Government’s 99-Day Plan as ‘Publicity Exercise’
Senior leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, T. Harish Rao, has strongly criticised the 99-day action plan launched by the Indian National Congress government in Telangana, describing it as a diversion from the administration’s governance failures.
The action plan, titled Praja Palana–Pragati Pranalika, was introduced by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy as an initiative to accelerate development and address public concerns. However, Harish Rao argued that the programme was merely a publicity exercise launched after nearly 800 days of ineffective governance.
Reacting to the announcement, the former minister questioned what achievements the government could claim after two and a half years in power. He accused the administration of attempting to divert attention from unfulfilled promises, including the six major guarantees and hundreds of commitments made during the election campaign.
Rao pointed out that thousands of applications submitted by citizens during earlier Praja Palana Gram Sabhas are still pending. Instead of resolving these issues, he said, the government has launched another short-term programme aimed primarily at publicity.
He also raised concerns about the condition of farmers, noting that crop bonuses promised by the government have yet to be delivered. Farmers, he added, have also faced shortages of essential fertilisers such as urea.
On employment, the BRS leader accused the government of failing to meet its pledge of providing two lakh jobs within the first year. He claimed the promised job calendar had effectively turned into a “jobless calendar.”
Rao further highlighted challenges in sectors such as healthcare, education and rural development, citing shortages of medicines in hospitals and inadequate infrastructure in schools. According to him, routine administrative work is now being projected as major achievements under the new action plan.
