Harish Rao Steps In to Rescue 12 Telangana Migrant Workers Stranded in Jordan

Twelve migrant workers from Telangana, stranded in Jordan without money or permission to return home, have issued a desperate appeal for help through a video message. Responding swiftly, BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao personally contacted the group and took immediate action to ensure their safe return.
The workers had left Telangana a year ago seeking employment in the Gulf. However, they are now facing severe hardships, with no salary, no funds for food or travel, and their company refusing to let them go back to India. In their emotional video, they pleaded for assistance “just to survive” and directly appealed to Harish Rao to rescue them.
Upon learning of their situation, Harish Rao called the workers and reassured them of full support. He stated,
“We have informed the State Government, union ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, and the Ministry of External Affairs. Efforts are underway to bring you back. Stay strong and don’t lose hope.”
The stranded workers belong to different villages across Nirmal, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Jagtial, and Siddipet districts. They begged for at least help in returning to their native villages if immediate travel arrangements were difficult.
Harish Rao has since escalated the issue to top officials and assured the families that he will follow up until all workers return safely.
Those awaiting rescue include:
Mettu Mutyam (Nirmal)
Vanga Bhaskar, Raj Kumar, Ganesh, Macharla Swami (Kamareddy)
Valget Gangadhar, Srinivas (Nizamabad)
Narsinglu, Gummula Manohar (Jagtial)
Pendyala Mahendar, Pochaiah (Siddipet)
Their story highlights the struggles faced by migrant workers abroad and the urgent need for stronger support systems and legal protection.
