Jagan’s Govt Bans Liquor Selling by Private Shops!
As promised, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy passed a bill banning the sale of liquor in private shops and from now, only the government will do it. This could be called as the first step to liquor prohibition.
The Andhra Pradesh (Regulation of Trade in Indian Made Foreign Liquor, Foreign Liquor, Amendment) Act, 2019, solely authorizes the state government to sell liquor in shops.
Keeping in mind, the current situation of AP women and their children, Jagan has taken this decision as he had been asked to ban alcohol by women in the state before the elections.
“Only the State Beverages Corporation Limited or any other entity owned and controlled by the government shall have the exclusive privilege of selling by the shop the IMFL in the entire state,” said AP government.
