No Campaigning, One Candidate Mass Voting
Amidst the Lok Sabha election, while all the parties in their respective areas are on to full-on campaigns for their party candidates, there is a village where there is a single candidate who does not hold any type of rallies or road show or not even single advertisement for the campaigning.
It sounds odd however at Ghol village in Baramati which lies in Pune district, there are no campaigns held what so ever. There is a single candidate who does not advertise himself for votes but still wins every time in the election due to mass voting.
Each and everyone in this village votes, and not only that their symbol is also decided. All the 100 people in this village opt for the same symbol at a single word of a person.
This pattern is being followed since 1970, as the villagers are illiterate they do not know the names, they just are told to press the button of a specific symbol.
At present Sarpanch is a woman named Phulabai Polekar, she is been on power since 2017. However, she was not availed for the comments when contacted.
