PM Modi to Visit Cyprus, Canada & Croatia; Attend G7 Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set for a diplomatic tour across three nations—Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia—from June 15 to 19. The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that Modi will begin his trip in Cyprus, marking the first Indian Prime Ministerial visit to the Mediterranean island nation in over 20 years. He will hold bilateral talks with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and address business leaders in Limassol.
Next, the Prime Minister will fly to Kananaskis, Canada, to participate in the G7 Summit from June 16 to 17, at the invitation of Canadian PM Mark Carney. This will be Modi’s sixth consecutive G7 participation. He is expected to join global leaders in discussions on critical topics like energy security, technological innovation, AI, and the evolving role of quantum computing in modern geopolitics. Several bilateral meetings are also scheduled on the summit’s sidelines.
The final leg of Modi’s tour will take him to Croatia on June 18, marking the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country. There, Modi will engage in high-level talks with Croatian PM Andrej Plenković and President Zoran Milanović. The visit underscores India’s intent to strengthen ties with the European Union and deepen engagement with Mediterranean and Eastern European partners. The tour is seen as a strategic move to reinforce India’s presence on the global diplomatic stage.
