Telangana Elections: Significant Seizures of Money and Assets
Amidst the Telangana elections, a substantial amount of money has been seized in Moinabad, Hyderabad, in addition to previous seizures in Hyderabad. The police intercepted the transportation of Rs.7.40 crore during vehicle checks at Moinabad police station.
Simultaneously, Saifabad police froze Rs.8 crores transferred from Visakha Industries Pvt Ltd to Vigilance Security Services Pvt Ltd, linked to Congress Chennur Constituency candidate Gaddam Vivek. This action, directed by the Telangana State Chief Election Officer, follows a complaint by sitting MLA Balka Suman, alleging extravagant election spending through a shell company account.
This marks a significant development in the election landscape, with authorities investigating the source and purpose of these substantial sums. Notably, the total seized cash during Telangana elections has reached Rs.659.2 crores, alongside confiscations of liquor worth Rs.94 crore, drugs worth Rs.36 crore, and gold worth Rs.179 crore. The scale of these seizures underscores the heightened scrutiny and enforcement of the election code during this electoral period.
