Telangana government plans for a genuine and realistic budget for 2024-25
The Telangana administration has decided to cut back on extravagant spending and establish a "genuine" yearly budget for the 2024-2025 financial year, accounting for revenue, expenses, and the necessary funds for six guarantees.
Top officials and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met at the Secretariat to assess State finances, emphasizing transparency, realistic budgets for 2024-2025, and reducing unnecessary spending without overspending, to provide a clearer financial status.
The CM instructed authorities to create a realistic and practical budget for the full use of Central grants, requiring officials to estimate the state's actual revenue, cover government employee salaries, and gather funds for six guarantees.
The CM suggested that the government should provide a transparent and unambiguous income and expense fact sheet for all Telangana citizens, ensuring everyone understands the information, rather than just a few.
Revanth emphasized the government's responsibility to fulfill election promises and directed authorities to distribute advertisements only when needed and use existing cars instead of purchasing new ones. He requested the full utilization of the Center's matching grants for various departments and schemes.
