Trump Says Ending Iran War Will Be a ‘Mutual Decision’
Donald Trump has stated that the decision to end the ongoing conflict with Iran will be made jointly with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel. The United States President indicated that discussions between the two leaders are ongoing as the conflict in the Middle East continues to intensify.
In an interview with The Times of Israel, Trump said the timing for ending the war would depend on several factors and would ultimately be a “mutual decision.” He added that he would make the final call at the appropriate time after evaluating all developments in the region.
Trump defended the military actions taken against Iran, claiming that Tehran posed a significant threat to Israel and other countries in the region. According to him, coordinated efforts between the United States and Israel had weakened a regime that he accused of planning large-scale destruction.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials have responded with strong warnings. Ali Larijani, a senior Iranian security figure, vowed that Iran would retaliate for the killing of the country’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei during US-Israeli strikes in late February.
Speaking on Iranian state television, Larijani accused Trump of underestimating Iran’s capabilities and warned that the conflict would not end quickly. He said the killing of Khamenei and more than a thousand Iranian citizens had intensified public anger across the country.
Larijani also posted a message on social media reiterating that Iran would not allow the attack to go unanswered. The escalating rhetoric from both sides suggests that the conflict may continue unless diplomatic efforts succeed in bringing the warring parties to negotiations.
