Dhanashree Verma Opens Up About Divorce With Yuzvendra Chahal: “He Walked Out First”
Dhanashree Verma, choreographer and reality show star, has finally spoken about her emotional journey following her divorce from Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. The couple, who tied the knot in December 2020, ended their marriage after four and a half years. Speaking to Humans of Bombay, Dhanashree shared that despite being mentally prepared for the separation, the court verdict left her overwhelmed.
“I still remember when I was standing there and the verdict was about to be given. Even though we were well-prepared, I got emotional. I just started howling in front of everyone. He walked out first,” she recalled.
Chahal, earlier, had admitted that the two faked their marriage for almost two years before parting ways. The divorce proceedings also made headlines when Chahal was spotted wearing a T-shirt that read “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy.” Addressing the incident, Dhanashree remarked, “We already knew people would blame me. When I heard about the T-shirt, I thought—why wear it? A WhatsApp would have been enough.”
Dhanashree emphasized that she stood by Chahal throughout their marriage, whether in small or big matters. “How you behave on that day reflects you as a person. I gave my all in the relationship,” she said.
Currently, Chahal is rumored to be dating RJ Mahvash, while Dhanashree is focusing on her professional life. The divorce may have ended their chapter together, but Dhanashree’s candid admission reveals the emotional toll of ending a marriage lived in the public eye.
