Hyderabad's Tilak Gets His First ODI Cap
Hyderabad bowler N Thakur Tilak Varma made his India debut in T20s in the last series against the West Indies. On Friday, he played his first ODI in the Asia Cup Super Four match against Bangladesh.
The southpaw did well in his first T20 series, but he didn't do much in the series against Ireland. India's starting XI changed a lot on Friday. Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kuldeep Yadav all got the day off.
Tilak took the first wicket, and Mohammed Shami, Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur, and Suryakumar Yadav were also brought in for their meaningless match.
Shreyas Iyer, who bats in the middle of the order, missed India's third game in a row. The BCCI said he "has shown improvement but is not yet fully fit." Tanzib Shakib was given his first ODI for Bangladesh.
India's teams are led by Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, and Prasidh Krishna.
Bangladesh: Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Litton Das (wicketkeeper), Tanzid Hasan, Anamul Haque, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mustafizur Rahman.
