India Vs New Zealand: India Lost by 80 Runs
India lost the first T20I by 80 runs when it has to chase 220. With skipper Rohit Sharma getting dismissed for 1, India received a major and early blow.
Rishabh Pant also failed to impress with his batting. Though Vijay Shankar played good, he lost his focus and gave away his wicket.
Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya too failed to get runs under the belt. MS Dhoni and Krunal Pandya added 52 runs together. Finally, India was bowled out for 139.
After being asked to bat first, New Zealand openers Colin Munro and Seifert got off to a flying start.
Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, and Scott Kuggeleijn continued to hit boundaries after Seifert’s dismissal and made sure the Kiwis breach the 200-run mark despite losing wickets at regular intervals.
