India Wins The Series Against New Zealand By 3-0
India won the third one day international against New Zealand by defeating New Zealand by 7 wickets. India won the series with 3-0.
After opting to bat, New Zealand lost their top order batsmen early. Ross Taylor (93) played a fighting knock with Tom Latham (51) as the duo stitched a 119-run fourth-wicket stand which helped the host manage a good score on the board. However, following their dismissals the lower-order fell in quick succession without adding much to the scorecard.
It was a complete team effort after the bowlers shot New Zealand out for 243 in 49 overs with all-rounder Hardik Pandya (2/45 in 10 overs) making his presence felt with the ball as well as on the field. Post the suspension for sexist remarks on a TV show was lifted, Pandya was playing his first match.
With Indian skipper Virat Kohli scoring 60 of 74 balls the chase for the target was quite easy. Rohit Sharma scored 62 in 77 balls with India managing to get to the target in just 43 overs. This win of the entire series against New Zealand following the previous win against Australia has added a lot of confidence in the Indian players especially when the World Cup 2019 is nearing.
