India Women Enters Semi-Final After Defeating New Zealand Women
India women entered the semi-finals as they crushed New Zealand women yesterday in the match played at Melbourne. This is their third consecutive win after they outclassed Australia and Bangladesh in their 1st and 2nd match, respectively.
Five bowlers picked one wicket each as India got over the line with Amelia Kerr and Rosemary Mair picking two wickets each as New Zealand restricted India to 133/8 in 20 overs.
Deepti Sharma had a chance to effect a run-out, but somehow she missed the stumps from just a few inches away. India benefited from Sophie divine hits on her way to 46 off 34, after scores of 29 and 39 against Australia and Bangladesh.
New Zealand has a better head-to-head record against India in recent years, having won the last three matches between the two sides. Exactly a year back, they had beaten the Indian team 3-0 in a three-match T20 international home series.
