India vs New Zealand, 2nd Test Day 2, India Lead By 97
End of the 2nd day and India lead New Zealand by 97 runs with a score of 90/6. Trent Boult picked his 3rd wicket of the innings as the ball bent in and smashed into the stumps of Umesh Yadav.
At stumps, Rishabh Pant (1) and Hanuma Vihari (5) were at the crease with India leading by 97 runs with four wickets in hand. After Mayank Agarwal fell early, Shaw and Pujara put on 50 for the second wicket before the 2.03-meter (6ft 8in) Jamieson struck for the first time when he found the edge of Shaw’s bat and a leaping Latham snared the catch at second slip.
New Zealand had done well to reach stumps on the first day at 63 for no loss, but their innings crumbled on Day 2 when they lost 5 wickets before Lunch and the remaining 5 in the second session. Mohammed Shami led the way with four wickets for 81 runs while Jasprit Bumrah finally showed glimpses of his past form with three scalps as India fought their way back into this Test.
