Indian Cricket Heroes Under Fire for Controversial Victory Celebration

Indian cricket stars Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, and Suresh Raina, hailed for their World Championship of Legends 2024 triumph over Pakistan, faced criticism after a celebratory video surfaced. In the video, the players danced to the tune of "Tauba Tauba," imitating disabilities, which sparked outrage and led to a complaint filed against them.
The National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) and Meta India's Vice President and Managing Director, Sandhya Devanathan, raised objections, alleging violation of constitutional dignity and disability rights laws. The contentious video, since removed from Instagram, stirred debate over social media governance and scrutiny of public figures' actions.
Amid claims of fatigue from the intense 15-day league, the players defended their celebratory gestures, but the incident remains a sensitive issue as legal proceedings unfold.
