U19 World Cup : India Beats Japan
Defending champions India defeated japan by 10 wickets in their second match of the ICC U-19 World Cup on Tuesday. The total score is the second-lowest in the history of the under-19 world cup.
India began their chase of 42 on a positive note, with Yashasvi Jaiswal taking strike and hitting four off the first over from spinner Retharekar. He hit two fours and a six off Yugandhar Retharekar in consecutive balls. The Indian score read 35/0 after four overs, with yet another boundary coming off the bowling of Ota Dobell, courtesy Kushagra.
The Japanese side managed to make 20 against India with a sort of resistance from Kento Ota Dobell and Yugandhar Retharekar. None of the Japanese batsmen were able to score in double-digit.
Left-arm pacer Akash Singh (2/29), Veer (2/34) and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi (2/44), who will be seen donning Kings XI Punjab colors in the IPL, shared six wickets between them. Fast bowler Kartik Tyagi (1/27), who already had a multi-crore IPL contract, was the most impressive, as he time and again breached the 140 km/h mark, while Jaiswal, too, picked up a wicket.
