World Cup Semis - IND vs NZ- Rain to Benefit India

In the first semi-final on ICC World Cup 2019, to be held in Manchester, India will take on New Zealand today. There is a prediction of rain on the match day. The group stage match between India and New Zealand was also washed out by rain and each team got 1 point.

In semi-finals and final rules are different. By any chance, if Tuesday’s match is canceled due to rain, the match will be played the next day. There is a reserve day for every semi-final and final. Now, if the match gets canceled on the reserve day also, India will qualify for finals as it has a higher number of points in the points table.

However, there is a catch here. If due to rain the match stops in between. But if the rain stops in the given period, then the Duckworth Lewis method will be used to decide the winner.

Men in Blue won their last group stage match against Sri Lanka to top the points table with 15 points. New Zealand after initial wins in the tournament were shaky during the later stages and stood fourth in the points table.
