10 More Died As Floods Rises In Telangana And State Capital
10 more bodies from various parts of Hyderabad were taken out by the management authorities those died due to the floods and heavy rains across the state.
Many colonies in Hyderabad and suburbs remained underwater on Thursday while Army and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel continued rescue and relief work in the flood-hit areas.
The Met department on Wednesday issued a yellow alert for Hyderabad, while the state government declared a holiday on Wednesday and Thursday for all private institutions, offices.
Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has pegged the loss suffered by the state in Wednesday’s downpour at roughly Rs 5,000 crore. Including 10 bodies found yesterday, total 50 people have so far died in the floods across the state.
Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao and Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav held an emergency meeting with senior officials and reviewed the rescue and relief operations in the city.
Telangana government announces ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of those who lost their lives in the flood. All the UG & PG regular & supplementary exams of JNTUH scheduled on October 16 have been postponed due to road blockages, power & network issues caused by heavy rains.
