Breaking Shakuntala Devi's record, 21-year-old NeelakantaBhanu Prakash has won the title 'World's Fastest Human Calculator' after winning first-ever gold for India in Mental Calculation World Championship at Mind Sports Olympiad (MSO).
The championship was held on 15 August. The event was held virtually with 30 participants in the age group of 13 and 50 years. Participants from 13 countries including UK, Germany, UAE, France, Greece and Lebanon took part in the contest.
Originally from Hyderabad, Bhanu has a degree in Mathematics from Delhi’s prestigious St. Stephen’s College. He has been interested in the subject from a very young age and holds four world records already.
He already holds four world records and 50 Limca records for being the ‘fastest human calculator’ in the world. He broke the ‘Fastest Human Calculator Record’ that was previously held by the likes of Shakuntala Devi and Scott Flansburg.
Bhanu Prakash said his vision is to create “VISION Math” labs and reach out to millions of children to make them start loving maths.
