80% Of IT Companies Are Likely To Adopt A Hybrid Work Model

India's tech companies are adopting new work models that range from completely remote to a combination of remote and on-site to completely on-site. Traditional companies are focused on precise execution, whereas technology organizations are fluid and modular.
According to a report by Nasscom in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) titled 'Shaping the Future of Work in India's Tech Industry', over 80% of the IT industry and global capability centers (GCCs) will adopt a hybrid work model.
"The organizations have faced some of the major shifts, with remote/hybrid being the most distinct one", said Debjani Ghosh, president of Nasscom.
The tech industry is at the cusp of innovation according to Nitin Chandalia, M.D., and partner, BCG India. And it is experimenting with unique and innovative solutions to create a workplace of the future.
Firms are not only considering remote work models in order to attract and retain highly skilled talent spread across regions, but they are also considering changing their geographical footprint and refocusing on tier 2/3 cities. To tap and retain diverse talent pools, companies are adopting newer models of work, including pay-on-demand models (gig workers/freelancers).
