According to a recent survey carried on by the latest Ipsos poll, it has been revealed that as many as 84 percent Indians are staying at home to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Data reveals that every 4 in 5 people in 14 countries including India are staying at home to stop the spread of Covid-19. However, Japan excludes from the list as people are not under lockdown control their. The countries with the biggest increase in self-isolation are Russia, Vietnam and Australia.
The data show that the strategy of self-isolation has been well-accepted by populations in most of the countries surveyed. Not only are governments implementing the measures, but the citizens are also mostly complying and staying home.
“These are unprecedented times. Covid-19 within a short spell has turned into a deadly pandemic. Governments are enforcing complete lockdowns for containment of the spread of the aggressive coronavirus,” said Amit Adarkar, CEO, Ipsos India.
India attains the seventh spot on self-isolation. First spot is attained by Spain (95 percent), followed by Vietnam (94 percent), France (90 percent), Brazil (89 percent), Mexico (88 percent) and Russia (85 percent).
