A Constable Resigns His Job To Get Married

A 29-year-old police constable Siddanthi Prathap, working in Charminar police station resigned his job and the reason which made him to take this decision shocked his higher officials. He wrote in his letter that he was highly disturbed and depressed about his job, he was also got rejected by brides stating the service required long working. He joined the police department as a constable in 2014 out of his own interest.

He said "I completed my graduation in engineering, and with high interest in the police department, I joined the service and performing my duties with utmost appreciations by the higher officers," he also added "As I am a constable, one of the marriage proposals was rejected," he told that "I have been observing my senior constables who retired from service as constables after serving for 30-40 years without any promotions in the job. (SI sub-inspector) and above rank officers are given promotions and other sources of benefits but for constables, there are no promotions and other allowances."

However, it is true that the constables are receiving less and constant salaries and they often forced to work for 24 hours at a stretch with no weekly holidays or sometimes vacations. Traffic constables are forced to complete their normal duties and again they need to start their duty at 10 pm as an anti-drunk driving campaign.
