AP Government Releases Health Bulletin Over Coronavirus

In an attempt to assuage people’s fears for the novel coronavirus, Jagan’s government has been asking people to take preventive measures and releasing the health bulletin at regular intervals.

Medical surveillance and security at all airports have been strengthened to control and prevent the further spread of the virus. Directorate of Health and Family Welfare on Monday released a health bulletin according to which as many as 441 passengers from COVID-19 affected countries have been identified and placed under surveillance while 102 people are placed in isolation wards and 216 people completed the 28 days observation period. Data has it that 6,927 people, who arrived from abroad, were screened at Visakhapatnam airport till March 5.

Also, Hospital staff is constantly monitoring all the 34 cases, out of which 29 have been tested positive with results of the remaining five yet to come. The government has also shown its preparedness in terms of getting all the numbers required for beds and other medical equipment. Till now, 351 beds that have been kept ready and 47 ventilators, 12,444 personal protective equipment, and 1.10 lakh masks have been acquired.

Meanwhile, the license of the medical shops selling masks and other equipment at higher costs than MRP has been canceled by DG Drug control administration.
