Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday crossed the 12,000 mark of total coronavirus cases as it recorded 796 new COVID-19 cases to reach 12,285.
Also, 11 people died due to the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to157, according to the ministry of health and family welfare. Also, 263 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours taking the states total to 5,480.
The most number of cases on Saturday were recorded by Anantapuram district as it reports 161 cases in a day while the sate at second spot is Kurnool with a total of 1,320.
Government took the samples of 24,458. So far, 8,16,082 samples with a positivity rate of 1.5% have been tested. Andhra Pradesh is also steady in reporting coronavirus cases linked to foreign returnees.
Meanwhile, Krishna and Kurnool districts registered four fresh coronavirus deaths each while West Godavari, East Godavari and Vizianagaram accounted for one each.
Guntur saw 17 deaths while Anantapur and East Godavari saw seven deaths each. Other deaths occurred in Chittoor (6), Nellore (4), Visakhapatnam (3), Prakasam (2), Srikakulam (2), West Godavari (2) and Vizianagaram (1).
