Amazon To Use A New Mode Of Delivery In India

From $1 billion investment to digitize small and medium enterprises to offering 10 lakh jobs in India, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos' trip to India saw many surprise bulletins. Jeff is confident about Amazon's future in the country, predicting exports of Made in India goods worth $10 billion by 2025. That is not all, Amazon has now launched a new mode of transportation to fulfill customer’s deliveries in India.

Amazon talked about Prime Air that delivers packages to customers using drones. Customers have been eager to see the tiny autonomous flying machines in action. But there's no confirmation on it yet, but Amazon has something brand new for its Indian purchasers.

Amazon chief took to Twitter to reveal Amazon's new fleet of fully electric rickshaws that will be used for customer deliveries across India. CEO of the world's largest e-commerce platform, Jeff has pledged to make the e-commerce giant net carbon neutral by 2040 and use 100% renewable energy by 2030 to tackle the sensitive climate change issue.

Bezos shared a video in which he is riding the company's new electric delivery rickshaw to make the statement. "Hey, India. We are rolling out our new fleet of electric delivery rickshaws. Fully electric, Zero carbon," Bezos tweeted on Monday.

Amazon delivers about 10 billion items a year. It is not clear how soon the e-rickshaws will replace the current mode of transportation for deliveries of Amazon items in India.
