Andhra Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Orders Probe into Land Allotment for Saraswati Power Amid Environmental Concerns
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to investigate the 1,515.93 acres of land allotted to Saraswati Power and Industries Private Ltd in the Dachepalli and Machavaram mandals of Palnadu district. The inquiry will focus on whether this land includes forest areas or natural resources and how the company obtained environmental clearance.
The order comes amid reports suggesting that the land granted to Saraswati Power might include forested regions and natural water resources. As Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, who also oversees the forest and environment portfolios, has taken the issue seriously. He recently discussed the matter with relevant officials and instructed them to investigate the land details thoroughly.
He further requested the Pollution Control Board (PCB) to review the environmental clearance process for Saraswati Power, especially if the land contains streams, hills, or other significant natural features. To address the situation comprehensively, Pawan Kalyan is expected to convene a meeting with officials from the forest, revenue, and PCB departments in the coming days.
