Andhra Pradesh Reports 26 New Cases; Tally At 252
26 new cases were reported in the state of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. The total number of cases in the state now stands at 252, and the Nellore district has reported the highest number at 34.
35 New cases were reported in the morning and by the 5 in the evening, 26 new cases were added to the list. These 26 new cases were all found in the Kurnool district alone.
Again, Most of the cases detected in them have been linked to people who attended the religious congregation held at Delhi’s Markaz Nizamuddin.
The state also reported its first death on the 3rd of April after a 55-year old man succumbed to COVID-19 in Vijayawada. He was known to contract the virus from his son, who returned after attending Tabligh-e-Jamaat in New Delhi.
However, police and government have been trying hard to identify and trace the others who have returned after attending this congregation.
The state has identified 1,085 people who are either from or are linked to the Tablighi Jamaat members and 613 amongst them have also tested positive of the virus.
