Apple Making A Car!
It is rumored that Apple’s project ‘Project Titan’ has been working on a self-driving car for a long time. Reports were doing round since last year, that the project has been put on hold. But just when everyone thought the plan is put on back-burner, new hiring by the company tells a different story.
Tesla’s vice president of engineering, Steve MacManus, has been roped in by the iPhone maker as the senior director. MacManus’s LinkedIn profile confirmed his association with Apple. Steve has also worked with Bentley Motors and Jaguar Land Rover, before joining Tesla.
There were two other high-profile hires, apart from MacManus, in the past few months. This proves that Apple is not going to kill ‘Project Titan’ anytime soon. The company’s spokesperson mentioned that “We continue to believe there is a huge opportunity with autonomous systems, that Apple has unique capabilities to contribute and that this is the most ambitious machine learning project ever.”
