Arctic Cold Blast Impacting North India’s Winter
The cold blasts from the Arctic region are showing the effect on chilly winter in North India this time. The temperature has dropped to -1.1 degrees Celsius in Churu, Rajasthan on Tuesday.
“The cold from the Arctic has been spilling southwards into Europe and US due to the weakening of westerly currents”.
And this is pushing western disturbances more southwards than normal towards North India. Due to this effect, this is transmitting the cold from Southern Europe to North India.
The last Western Disturbances of January has now hit North India, and its impact will be shown on Wednesday and Thursday.
Snowfall is expected across the western Himalayan region: J&K, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand and the Northern planes have chances to get rains in some areas.
