Australia beats India by 32 runs and bags the ODI series by 3-2
Australia team has made a superb comeback after losing the first two ODI in the five ODI series against India and winning the series by 3-2. This has been a historic win for Australia since 2009 with India losing a bilateral series at home for the first time since 2015.
Australia had won the toss and decided to bat first setting a target of 272 for India with a loss of 9 wickets. Usman Khawaja's second ton of the series and Peter Handscomb's half-century helped Australia set up the target of 272.
The total may not have been what Australia would've liked given the start they got but it proved strong enough to defend as the match progressed.
Despite India's efforts the Australian spin trio of Adam Zampa (3/46), Nathan Lyon (1/34) and part-timer Glenn Maxwell (0/34) kept the Indian batsmen on a tight leash. Rohit Sharma (56) was the only one who could score a half-century.
Claiming the series 3-2 against India, this became Australia’s first series win in two years.
