BJP asks the central forces to withhold in Bengal till the poll code is lifted
Dreading violence on account of the decision Trinamool Congress agreement in West Bengal, the BJP said on Sunday that central paramilitary forces ought to remain conveyed in the state till the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in power.
Talking at a public interview at the gathering office while polling proceeded in nine seats in West Bengal, BJP leader and Union Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said six of those voting demographics had seen violence on Sunday. She said TMC workers were keeping voters from going to polling stations and that the Election Commission of India (ECI) should make a move in the issue.
She said TMC leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had discussed "retribution", driving the BJP to be worried about violence subsequent to polling closes on Sunday evening. She included that the central forces ought to stay in the State till the Model Code of Conduct is lifted and that the ECI should take discernment of the issue.
The arrangement of central forces in Bengal has been a bone of conflict between the BJP and the TMC, which has blamed the forces for following up on requests of the BJP to threaten voters.
