BRS Demands Action Against Jagga Reddy Over Poll Conduct
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has demanded strict action against Congress leader T Jagga Reddy for alleged misconduct during municipal elections. Sangareddy MLA Chintha Prabhakar urged Director General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy to initiate stern measures against the Congress leader.
Prabhakar accused Jagga Reddy of making abusive remarks against police officials who were on duty during the elections. He expressed concern that such behavior could undermine law enforcement efforts and disrupt the democratic process. The MLA further warned of possible attempts to create disturbances during the vote-counting process scheduled for February 13.
According to the BRS, preventive measures should be taken to ensure that counting proceeds peacefully. Prabhakar cited instances where BRS leaders were reportedly bound over by police ahead of meetings, arguing that similar precautions should be applied to Jagga Reddy if necessary.
The party also called upon police welfare and IPS officers’ associations to respond firmly to the alleged misconduct, just as they had in other instances involving political leaders. The demand highlights escalating tensions between the Congress and BRS amid closely watched municipal elections.
As counting day approaches, authorities face mounting pressure to maintain order and safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
