Baba Ramdev Hints at Sabotage, Alleges Turkey Link in Crash

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has raised eyebrows with claims that the Air India Flight AI171 crash could involve foreign sabotage. Speaking to the media, Ramdev alleged that a Turkish agency had been responsible for maintaining the crashed aircraft, hinting at a possible conspiracy. “India needs to be very cautious about letting foreign agencies handle such sensitive operations,” he said, although he provided no concrete evidence for his claims.
His remarks come as scrutiny intensifies over safety procedures and foreign involvement in Indian aviation. In a related development, Adani Airport Holdings recently terminated ground-handling contracts with Turkish firm Celebi at both Mumbai and Ahmedabad airports. This move followed the Indian government’s decision to revoke Celebi’s security clearance, citing national security concerns.
Airport officials confirmed that Celebi was directed to immediately hand over all ground-handling operations to avoid service disruptions. The government’s actions come amid wider geopolitical tensions, particularly Turkey’s diplomatic stance favoring Pakistan and opposing India’s counterterrorism efforts.
Additionally, reports suggest Air India is reviewing its contracts with Turkish Technic for aircraft maintenance amid the escalating geopolitical strain. While Ramdev’s conspiracy claims remain unproven, they have added a new layer of public concern as authorities continue investigating the crash. Aviation experts, however, stress the importance of evidence-based analysis in such sensitive matters, cautioning against speculation that may undermine international partnerships.
