Before Release, Coolie Sets New Records in Telugu States

Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated action drama Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is already shattering records well before its theatrical release on August 14, 2025. The film is generating tremendous buzz across southern India, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. According to industry reports, the Telugu theatrical rights have been sold for over ₹48 crore (excluding GST), a staggering amount and one of the highest ever for a dubbed Tamil film. The deal was reportedly sealed by three major distributors—Suniel Narang, Suresh Babu, and Dil Raju—further underlining the film’s massive potential.
Coolie stars Rajinikanth in a power-packed role and features a formidable ensemble cast including Nagarjuna as the main antagonist, along with Shruti Haasan, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir. The film is further boosted by a special cameo appearance from Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. Produced by Sun Pictures, this multilingual action entertainer promises a blend of mass appeal, gripping narrative, and high-octane action.
Fueling the anticipation further, the first single from the film, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, is scheduled for release today at 6 PM. Fans are already speculating it could become the anthem of the season.
With such early momentum, Coolie is poised to become a record-breaking success across multiple markets. The combination of Rajinikanth’s enduring popularity, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s track record of blockbusters, and the star-studded lineup makes Coolie one of the most awaited Indian films of 2025. As excitement builds ahead of the audio launch and trailer release, trade analysts are predicting a massive box office opening across languages, especially in the Telugu-speaking states where fan interest has reached fever pitch.
