Vijay Thalapathy starrer Bigil has been released today. Apart from Tamil, the movie was also released in Telugu with the title ‘Whistle’. The film has created a decent buzz before the release. Let’s see how the film turned out to be!

And then Michael leads the eleven girls as a Football coach. But girls won’t accept him as their coach, thinking him as a baddie. How Michael convinces and coaches them? How he faces tough situations and wins over them? How the girls win the tournament? Will be seen on the screen!
Whistle Review:
Vijay rocked the show! He was seen in dual roles – one as a father and the other as a son. He did justice to both the roles. He as a rowdy and as a coach managed amazingly. The mannerism and style of Vijay got a positive response from the audience. Nayanthara is good in her role but the love track of Vijay and Nayan is not so impressive. The real story starts only in the second half and so you may get bored at times in the first half. Yogi Babu and Vivek did good comedy. Jackie Shroff performed well. Indhuja, Reba Monica John, Amritha Aiyer, Indraja Shankar, and others who played as the Football players did well. The emotions between the girls and Vijay are showcased well.
Speaking about director Atlee, he showcased fights and emotions very well. His way of Narration of the stories of girls is very impressive. Production values are top-notch. BGM by Rahman is good but the lyrics of Telugu songs are not catchy and so the audience will feel bore instantly but the dubbing work is decent as it gives the feel of watching an original film. Cinema work is superb but editing could have been much better.
What’s good?
- Vijay’s performance
- Acting of girls
- Emotions
- Production values
- Cinematography
What’s Okay?
- BGM
- Comedy
What’s Bad?
- Songs (Telugu)
Verdict: On the whole, Whistle is good at many points such as fights, emotions, comedy, story, etc. If you can tolerate the saggy first half, you can watch it today itself!
