Bollywood Celebrities Celebrate India’s Record-Breaking Win Over Australia in Women’s World Cup Semifinal

Bollywood stars took to social media to celebrate Team India’s historic victory over defending champions Australia in the ICC Women’s World Cup semifinal at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on Thursday. India chased down a record target of 339 runs to secure a five-wicket win, storming into the final for the first time since 2017.
Kareena Kapoor Khan led the cheer, sharing photos from the match on Instagram and writing, “And like I said, girls can do it all. With grit and determination… Well done, Team India. Take a bow, fantabulous Jemimah!” she added, posting a picture of centurion Jemimah Rodrigues.
Varun Dhawan also praised Jemimah, calling her “My hero” in his Instagram Story, while Kantara star Rishab Shetty tweeted, “What a moment for India! Our women’s team storms into the final with a stunning display of determination, unity, and brilliance. Take a bow, @JemiRodrigues—that century was pure class!”
Suniel Shetty lauded India’s fearless chase, writing, “339 against Australia! That was a big total, but the belief was bigger. Jemimah’s unbeaten ton and India’s chase—pure magic!”
Arjun Rampal called the win “an epic moment for women’s cricket,” while Vikrant Massey hailed Jemimah’s innings as “one of the greatest batting displays in cricket history.” Manoj Bajpayee shared his admiration on Instagram, writing, “Kamaal kar diya! Pure heart, grit, and class from our women in blue. Hats off to @jemimahrodrigues and captain @imharmanpreet_kaur.”
India’s chase of 339 is the highest in women’s ODI history and the biggest ever in a World Cup knockout—men’s or women’s. The victory sets up a thrilling final clash against South Africa on Sunday, November 2, in Navi Mumbai.
