COVID19 Cases Cross 2900 In India
The Union Health Ministry confirmed the death of 68 people with COVID19 in the country. India has recorded the highest number of cases (601) and deaths (12) in the last 24 hours. A total of 2900 positive cases have been confirmed by now! India has seen an unexpected rise of COVID19 cases after hundreds of people who had attended a controversial religious gathering held by Islamic group Tablighi Jamaat in South Delhi, in March, tested positive.
COVID-19 count has crossed 1 million-mark with over 50,000 deaths, worldwide. Many countries have accepted their defeat and asked everyone to be safe. Even the WHO has hopes only in India. But, unfortunately, the cases are increasing as people are not taking the situation seriously. There are still many people who are roaming outside for silly reasons.
The lockdown which was up to April 14 might get extended, depending on the situation. Though the government said that it is not going to extend the lockdown, the situation is more serious now and there is no other way to save the citizens. The United States recorded nearly 1,500 deaths from COVID-19 between Thursday and Friday, recording the highest number of deaths than any other country in 24 hours.
In India, Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of cases in the country, and Tamil Nadu is the second. The Uttar Pradesh government has filed charges against a few members of the Tablighi Jamaat under the strict National Security Act. The case was filed after allegations of misconduct against and assault on the nurses, at a Ghaziabad hospital, surfaced.
