Calculator That Calculates Your Risk To Coronavirus
Scientists from University College London have built a calculator that can predict a person’s risk of dying from coronavirus.
The calculator has been built as part of a wider study, which warns lifting the coronavirus lockdown too quickly could lead to anywhere between 37,000 and 73,000 excess deaths within a year.
The tool calculates your risk based on factors that include the individual’s age, sex and underlying health conditions to assess their effect on coronavirus mortality under different scenarios.
The calculator estimates 164 excess COVID-19-related deaths on top of the expected 1639 deaths over a year in patients in a similar situation.
However, the calculator does appear to be suffering some glitches and isn’t working for some users. But the calculator provides one year mortality risks for common conditions by age and sex.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus cases in US have reached close to 15 lakh while the fatalities have gone past 85,000.
