Chandigarh Businessman Gifts 51 Luxury Cars to Employees in Grand Diwali Surprise

In a heartwarming gesture that captured national attention, MK Bhatia, founder and chairman of the Chandigarh-based MITS Group, gifted 51 brand-new Scorpio SUVs to his employees ahead of Diwali. The extravagant celebration, held at the company’s Chandigarh centre, turned into a festival of gratitude as Bhatia personally handed over the car keys to his top-performing staff members.
According to reports, the SUVs were given as a token of appreciation for employees’ dedication and performance. Videos of the event quickly went viral, flooding social media with praise, curiosity, and humour. One user quipped, “I have a microbiology degree, any scope of joining this company? I’ll take a telescope instead of a car,” while another commented, “As long as profits come from quality medicines, this generosity is well deserved.”
This is not the first time Bhatia has shown such largesse. Gifting vehicles to employees has become a Diwali tradition for the MITS Group. However, what makes this year’s gesture particularly special is Bhatia’s inspiring personal journey. Once bankrupt in 2002 after his medical store suffered heavy losses, he rebuilt his career and launched MITS in 2015. Today, the company operates 12 businesses under its banner, with a growing international presence in Canada, London, and Dubai.
In 2023, Bhatia strengthened his leadership team by appointing five new directors and naming Shilpa Chandel as CEO to lead the group’s expansion.
While some online skeptics joked about hidden EMIs, most netizens applauded the act as a shining example of corporate appreciation and employee-centric culture. For MITS Group, Diwali 2025 wasn’t just about lights and sweets—it was about 51 gleaming cars symbolising hard work, resilience, and heartfelt gratitude.
