Funeral Held For Indian Student, Killed In Alabama
The 30-year-old Neil Purush Kumar was killed by a robber in Alabama on 24th July. The incident took place at a convenience store where he worked part-time as a store clerk. His funeral was held on Sunday at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy at 3.30 PM.
Kumar’s parents and sisters attended the funeral. His parents lived in Dubai and they flew to Boston where his sisters live. The family then came to Alabama for the funeral. Everyone had moist eyes at his funeral and could not control their tears seeing the picture of the young man, who had gone too soon.
Kumar was a student at Troy University in Alabama. The small town of Brundidge in Alabama where the incident happened is still in shock. The locals held a remembrance walk in the town during the evening.
The police have arrested the suspect, Leon Flowers. The 23-year-old Flowers has four felony convictions and was released on probation on 30th April.
