Google Campus In Hyderabad?

On Thursday, Google began construction on its largest campus outside of its US headquarters.
The 33 lakhs square feet building is coming up at Gachibowli, the IT cluster. IT giant also unveiled the design of the campus coming up at the 7.3-acre site it acquired in 2019.
Telangana’s IT Minister KTR said he was super excited to break the ground for Google’s largest campus outside their headquarters at Mountain View, the US.
Google currently operates out of a leased facility in Kondapur in Hyderabad and employs about 7,000 people. Earlier expected to be ready in 2019, the new campus is likely to double the headcount nearly.
On Thursday, Google signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the KCR government to support and accelerate its vision of leveraging technology for sustainable economic growth and inclusive social development.
Under this new initiative, the company will collaborate with state govt through its various arms to extend scholarships for Google Career Certificates to Telangana’s youth. And support women entrepreneurs through digital, financial and business skills training, and strengthen the govt’s school modernization efforts with digital teaching and learning tools and solutions.
As part of the joint effort, the company will also support the state government’s efforts to improve public transportation and digital technologies in agriculture.
KTR noted that Google has been working with the state government since 2017, using its solutions to support “our vision of a Digital Telangana and furthering our mutual aim of making every citizen digitally empowered.”
