Gunjan Saxena Is A Must Watch, But In Controversies

Gunjan Saxena, starring Janhvi Kapoor takes through the life of Indian Air force officer who fought in the Kargil war. The movie has been long-awaited and is now available on OTT unicorn Netflix. Though the movie is a must-watch biopic, it also raised various allegations since it’s release on the platform.
Gunjan Saxena has raised allegations and written an open letter criticizing the film’s portrayal of the IAF. While the filmmakers claim using their creative license to bring authenticity and glorification in the character portrayal, the IAF’s spokesperson didn’t mince words in stating that this was not true to the IAF.
The IAF has also sent a note stating their disappointment to producers Dharma Productions, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and Netflix.
“Dharma Productions sent us the final copy for our perusal and we had some concerns, which were communicated. We requested minor alterations but they haven’t been done. So we wrote a formal letter,” the spokesperson said.
Flying Officer Aman Nidhi, also states that the defense forces are above reservation on the basis of gender. Nidhi alleged that the movie showed different treatment of men and women in training behavior, however, there is no discriminate between men and women in forces and female’s contribution will be equal to the male counterparts’, nothing less.
Also, amid the nepotism debate, Janhvi Kapoor, the lead of the movie, has already been trolled for promoting the same. Now, everyone awaits the fate of the movie and its reviews in the upcoming days.
