Denial rates for H-1B petitions are at an all-time high under the Trump administration. As per analysis was done by the National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP), the denial rates have never exceeded 8% in the years between 2010 and 2015 however there has been a drastic increase since 2015 and it is to fulfill its promise to increase scrutiny of the foreign worker.
In the first quarter of the 2019 fiscal year, the government issued initial denials to nearly 25,000 H-1B applications, a 50 percent increase over the same period last year.
Even the major employers in the US have seen a rise in its denial rate with in some cases it rising to up to 30%. Indians applying for H1B visas now have to make sure that everything is in place so that their visa does not get rejected with increasing denials.
