Hyderabad police serve Tollywood actor Navdeep with a summons to appear before them

The Gudimalkapur police issued a summons to the Tollywood actor Pallapolu Navdeep, requesting that he appear before them and assist in the investigation of a recent narcotic case.
Three Nigerian nationals and four others were detained by the TSNAB and Gudimalkapur police for allegedly possessing and selling drugs to customers in the city. The police had seized various narcotics including cocaine, ecstasy pills and MDMA from the persons who were operating from Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
"During the course of the investigation, we learned that Navdeep was in contact with narcotic dealers. A notice is issued to him instructing him to appear before the investigator on Saturday, according to a TSNAB official. In the police remand report for the case filed at the Gudimalkapur police station, Navdeep is identified as a customer.
The actor had petitioned the Telangana High Court for an order prohibiting the police from arresting him and had requested anticipatory parole in a lower court.
The police had identified ten additional customers in the case, including high-profile merchants and film industry figures.
