Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa while addressing a press conference in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore on Monday commented on the number of casualties in the air strike saying that the IAF only focuses on the target to be hit and does not count the dead.
When asked on why Varthaman was flying a MiG-21 Bison he said that “It has been upgraded, has better radar, air-to-air missiles and better weapons system".
Also, the Air Chief said that Abhinandan will be flying the fighter jet back once he is medically fit as IAF cannot compromise on the fitness of its pilots. He also mentioned that the Rafael jets will be a part of India's inventory by September.
When asked on the mid-air crash of two planes during an air show in Bangalore the chief said that he had to get its act together and find out what might have caused it.
